She is not interested in ballet at all. What type of dance would be best for her that would allow her to use gymnastics in her dance routines? Will dance schools in general encourage her to do the gymnastics or do l need to look for a specific type dance school? she will continue to take gymnastics but only one day a week while she is doing dance.

l would say looking for a dance school that offers modern dance. l used to do gymnastics as well but switched to modern dance and immediately became great at it. You use lots of leaps and flexibility which will come easily to a gymnast. Also in one of the routines l was in l even got to do backwalkovers. l hope this helped!!!!

The only type of dance that requires gymnastics is acro (short for acrobatics). If she is not interested in ballet, then jazz and tap are good. Maybe hip hop. Most studios do not require gymnastics, but most wo not disencourage it unless it is at the same time as her dance class and she has to skip her dance classes.

l can not guarantee that this would be good, but my friend has been doing gymnastics for 13 years now and she says her coach makes her take contemporary and she says she excels at it. l personally love contemporary dance, but you should have your daughter try each of the dances that everyone suggested. Hope l could help and good luck to your daughter! (:
PS - has she ever considered the Olympics? Just a suggestion (;

You really should try out a couple of ballet studios in your area. Some ballet classes are very boring but at some studios they make it so much fun that she could fall in love! When she gets older she can do solos and have gymnastics in them. l reccomend for her to take a ballet/ jazz class jazz is such high pace that Im sure she would love it FIND THE RIGHT STUDIO!

Jazz/ hip-hop,, && l used to do that and its as moving as hip-hop but it does not look street or anything it looks more like, well.. jazzy! It is really fun and it will come easy for her if she was in gymnastics to do all the jumps and flips but it will also allow her to learn how to move other parts of her body && to get great rythm,, she will become a great dancer if she really practices!

If you start out with gymnastics, your daughter has a really great chance at becoming a good dancer. l think if she would like to use her flexibility and coordination from gymnastics, and she is not interested in ballet jazz would be her best shot.

Ohh any school will probably love ur daughter. ESPECIALLY competition schools. She could become quite good at dance, & compete in great competitions. Find a well known competition dance school. These kinds of schools offer all different kinds of classes including ''leaps & turns ''acro jazz, lyrical, ballet etc.
So u need to dins a good dance school which offers competition. given ur daughters background, l think she will like the competition atmosphere. However, if u r looking for proffesional ballet training, go to a serious ballet school.
She will really love these classes l think: -jazz -musical theatre -acro (acrobatics) -leaps & turns -stretch -lyrical/contempory
If she starts competition, it is more than likely that she will be made to do at least 2 ballet classes a week. Most comp girls do this, as ballet is the foundation for all dance.
